Thomas at Zinc Bar \u2013 Tuesday, February 25, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On\u00a0<strong>Tuesday, February 25, 2025<\/strong>, the\u00a0<strong>Kelly Green Quartet<\/strong>\u00a0delivered an unforgettable performance at the iconic\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zincbar.com\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.zincbar.com\/\">Zinc Bar<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0in New York City. Led by the exceptionally talented pianist and vocalist\u00a0<strong>Kelly Green.<\/strong> The band, known for its tight-knit and beautifully cohesive sound, featured\u00a0<strong>Evan Hyde<\/strong>\u00a0on drums, <strong>Luca Soul Rosenfeld<\/strong>\u00a0on bass and flautist <strong>Elijah J. Thomas<\/strong>. This is the band Kelly performs with regularly and they also recorded her latest album Seems together, which you can hear from the first note. We had the opportunity to hear Kelly Green perform in December with a different rhythm section, but this time, the chemistry was even more electrifying, and the music reached new heights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Elijah J. Thomas: Redefining the Flute in Jazz<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A standout moment of the evening was the performance of&nbsp;<strong>Elijah J. Thomas<\/strong>, who masterfully demonstrated that the flute and also piccolo can indeed be a competitive solo instrument in jazz music. His playing was nothing short of virtuosic, adding a fresh and vibrant layer to the quartet\u2019s sound. Thomas\u2019s ability to weave intricate melodies and improvisations into the ensemble\u2019s fabric was nothing short of breath taking. Her performance was both tender and powerful, capturing the essence of the song\u2019s introspective beauty. The audience was also treated to a sneak peek of some of her new compositions, set to be released in&nbsp;<strong>August 2025<\/strong>. These new works showcased her evolving artistry and left us eagerly anticipating what\u2019s to come. Keep Kelly Green on your radar\u2014her upcoming release is sure to be something special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Zinc Bar: Where Music Comes Alive<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The atmosphere at Zinc Bar, as always, was exceptional.
